Savills Sevenoaks Smash Round Up

The Savills Sevenoaks Smash continued to grew following a successful first season. The 2022 edition saw 39 teams compete across two tiers in the group stage, which then split into three knockout competitions: Cup, Bowl and Plate.

The competition raised a total of £1866.89 for charity; £968.10 for Pancreatic Cancer UK and £898.79 for Kent and Sussex Air Ambulance.

The Sevenoaks Vine Jazzers we’re hampered by early season availability issues and lost their 3 group games which placed them into the Plate competition.

Successive wins against the Bidborough Badgers and Sevenoaks Rugby Sixers meant the Jazzers faced Queens XI Broomfield (Leeds and Broomfield) on Finals Day. The Jazzers won a close final with a few balls remaining!

Finals day was once again a roaring success. A huge thank you must go to all volunteers who helped the day to run, Eat The Farm burger van, Ali the Ice Cream man and the Vine bar for their hard work!

Winners and runners up were:

Cup Winners: Holmesdale Stallions

Cup Runners Up: Hesketh Heat

Plate Winners: Sevenoaks Vine Jazzers

Plate Runners Up: Queens XI Broomfield

Bowl Winners: Darenth Valiants

Bowl Runners Up: Dartford Destroyers

A massive thank you must go to the support of tournament sponsors, who we could not run the competition without! A special thank you to Savills as primary sponsor, as well as to Radnor House, Stag Cricket and Invicta Cricket Coaching.

The Smash caters for clubs and teams of all abilities. If you are interested in joining the competition or helping out, please get in touch via email on sevenoakssmash@gmail.com
