The Vine arrived at Bexleyheath knowing that the toss could be vital based on last years game but in this case I'm not sure it would have helped too much.
We lost the toss as the oppo chose to bat. The bowling started well and we managed to keep them to 86-3 at 25 overs. Their number 3 then continued with a very well played innings and managed to end on 122 and Bexleyheath ended on 252 thanks to some good hitting from the number 5 & 8 and some poor bowling from the boys.
Tea was delightful as per last year and the boys then set about the chase on what we knew was going to be a dodgy wicket and a hostile environment out there. The plan was to make it to 25 overs and then cash in as the ball had gone very soft at that point in our bowling innings.
Unfortunately we didn't make it to the half way point and due to some poor shots, balls staying low and excessive turn the Vinyard were all out in 20 overs with no one making it out of single figures.
Onto the next one and lets bounce back quickly this Saturday
